Coco; Disney’s Epic Masterpiece for 2017’s Year End

A round of applause for Pixar, they just ended 2017 with a masterpiece, "Coco".

If you think this movie's predictable think again. The trailer really does one hell of a job in hiding the plots and all, I mean even the extended version doesn't give out much. Firstly the title isn't even the main characters name and there's a few more mouth dropping moments as you keep watching.
Disney's diversity takes us to Mexico this December (2017 of course) with a story about a boy with music in his heart but a family that doesn't support it. He then winds up in an adventure to find his great grandfather (in the land of the dead) to get blessings to freely pursue music and break the families "music is forbidden policy This movie will light up your homes this festive season with lessons about how important family is. It’s also packed with great dialogue and humour. Animation was simply outstanding.

It certainly wouldn't be Disney without musical numbers. This movie has memorable songs including "un poco loco", "remember me" and quite a few more that will instantly have you thinking you can speak Spanish.
With a budget of barely $200 million, the movie raked up to about $682 million on the box office and is still selling.
So gather up the kids (adults may love it even more, I did after all) and don't let them miss out on this wonderful and inspirational adventure. Here’s the trailer just to get you a glimpse of this awesomeness;

As always here’s my Rating Matrix of this awesome animation

SPIDERMAN HOMECOMING (2017); Meet the High School Peter Parker

Funny how Peter Parker keeps getting younger by the years. In the much older Spiderman movies, he was pretty grown up having his own place and job even (not to mention Aunt May is getting younger and hotter too). Well this year he's going to prom in "Spiderman; Homecoming"

Spoiler alert! Peter Parker is a high school kid just trying to prove to Tony Stark that he is eligible to be part of the amazing avenger's. We know the story of how he gets his powers so they didn't bother to bore us with that detail. His attempts to catch bad guys and do good is what makes the movie

Sure there are a number of scenes that may make you question why Stark and the Avenger's don't swoop in to help catch them, but hey that would make the movie shorter and I guess this is Spiderman's shine so... no help! They throw in a little high school love too between Peter and Liz Allan (whom I didn't think acted well and of course the villain is her father, yeah!)

Spidy About to do his spectacle jum

The movie has a great cast including Tom Holland playing the hilarious and hyper spider man pretty well. Even Zendaya makes appearances in the movie so it’s worth the watch.

But personally, I have not enjoyed any other spiderman movies than the three starring Tobey Maguire.

Homecoming grossed over $880 million worldwide, making it the second most successful Spider-Man film and the fourth highest-grossing film of 2017. It received positive reviews, with critics praising the light tone and focus on Parker's high school life, and the performances of Holland and Keaton. A sequel is scheduled to be released on July 5, 2019, can’t wait. Below is a link to the trailer;

Catch us next time again when we review another masterpiece, as always keep it #entertainmentzone247. Merry Christmas to you all and a very marvelous 2018 to you all, Happy Holidays!

The Intern (2015): Movie Review

If you’ve been in the position of being an intern or a temp in any place well then, you gotta watch this one. I know it’s a 2015 movie (some movie junkies claim to only watch movies or TV shows released in Cinemas only), but c’mon, don’t you still love the Godfather. I must say I found this movie to be not only fun filled but full of startup drama that is indeed exhilarating at the same time.

Well enough of me yip yapping, the cast chemistry was just awesome, with the legendary one and only Robert De Niro playing the Intern and Ann Hathaway playing the e-commerce fashion startup founder and CEO. The story line is simply based on De Niro copying on being accepted as a senior intern and has to work side by side as an assistant to the always working( or rather workaholic)  CEO Jules Ostin (Ann Hathaway) who has to put up with balancing her corporate life with her social and family life. It’s a marvelous tale of modern day welfare, check out the trailer below:

And to finalize things as always, I’ll end with my ratings matrix for the movie:

Ghostbusters 2016, New and Improved OR what!!

So am sure the title “Ghostbusters” is not new to any movie or comic book fan. Well if you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s then you definitely remember the hit movie franchise of 1984, and 1989 by star Bill Murray. Well the ghost busting crew is back and is a new and rather more sophisticated way. Ghostbusters (2016) is a phenomenal reboot of the franchise, this time the crew are some serious nut cracking women (or Ladies if you prefer that). And who better else to crank up this this awesome ladies ghostbusting crew if not Melissa McCarthy and her partners in crime Kristen Wig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

The plot was the usual, ghosts attack a city and the crew do their thing, and of course an unexpected casting of Chris Hemsworth as the crew’s secretary just spiced up the comedy. Well enough talk, here’s my usual ratings matrix of the movie and check out the trailer on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6hlkIlGFCI

Captain America: Civil War Introduces African Superhero to the MCU Universe

Am pretty sure we were all very thirsty for the next edition of Captain America after Winter Soldier, and I must say it couldn’t have come at a much better time. Released world-wide, just barely a 4 weeks ago, Civil war has already broken Box office and marvel records, reaching a billion dollars world-wide in barely 3 weeks.

Moving to a more juicy part, well as the title suggests the movie was all about a civil war or rather misunderstanding of ideologies between two very good friends, Captain America himself and Iron Man, this thus divides the avengers into two opposing sides, one siding with Iron Man and the other siding with Captain America. This of course leads to an introduction of some very interesting characters, also superheroes of course, the Hilarious Spider man (A new Peter Parker) and the Wakanda Prince, Black Panther (T’challa) who’s movie will premier in 2017. I must say these two new faces to the avengers’ team was quite something, a very thrilling movie adventure and totally worth seeing, The Russo Brothers really did a very good job of bringing the screenplay to life.

Well let me not spoil the movie too much, here are my ratings for Captain America: Civil War 2016 movie. Enjoy the movie, as always next time, #entertainmentzone24-7.
