So
the biggest and most grand music award show will be televised on Sunday, 26th
January, 2020 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, Carlifornia. Well for most of you, you’ll probably be watching them live on
the 27th of January as is my case, time zones, right, what a bummer.
Anyway, this year’s Grammys are definitely set to be historical with female
artists leading the nominations in the key categories. The legendary and Grammy
winning artist, Alicia Keys returns as the host, Awesome!!!! Lizzo also makes
history by being a first time nominee with a record eight (8) nominations, the
most nominations by a single artist this year. Another history maker is the LA
Teenage sensation, Billie Eilish who has bagged herself seven (7) nominations
and is the youngest nominee to secure nominations in the Big Four (4)
categories which are Record of the year, Album of the year, Song of the year
and Best new artist. Billie was 17 the time the nominations were announced. Ariana Grande also follows in the number of nominations. For the male artists, Lil Nas leads the nominations with his viral song "Old Town Road" which stayed number one on the Billboard charts for a record 19 weeks. As for performances, well some A-list artists
on the line-up include Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Aerosmith, Gwen Stefani and Blake
Shelton.
